Cobalt chrome dentures

Many of our patients prefer to wear chrome dentures as they’re a style they’ve worn for years, and are comfortable with. While they’re not as flexible as Valplast dentures, cobalt chrome dentures can be attached to crowns for a better fit, and combined with a treatment for front crowns making them tight fitting and comfortable.

Chrome dentures can contribute to an increased sense of taste and temperature detection, because more of your palate is exposed than with traditional acrylic dentures.

Chrome dentures are also the most durable – and can last for 20 to 30 years – because the metal fitting is designed to last a long time, but is reliant on a patient’s teeth lasting too… The precision fitting that goes into each set makes them extremely stable, and more retentive than acrylic dentures, despite their thinner style: they’re also stronger than acrylic dentures, so suit patients whose dentures fracture frequently. Cobalt chrome dentures don’t alter with gum shrinkage so also have a longer life, and rest on strong adjacent teeth, making them healthier for your gums.
